Little Lambs (Pre-K and Kindergarten)
Great things are happening in our Pre-K and K class! They begin with a short object lesson to open their ears, minds and hearts before they dive into a Bible lesson that our leaders bring to life. Each Sunday they hear, see and touch a Bible story that is told up close by their New Life Kids! leader. Our kids also learn about God's great love for them as they enjoy crafts, games and memory verses too, because each aspect of our curriculum reinforces the lesson of the week. Then the lesson is presented again, only this time via video with Sharky, Inky and Sting, wonderful creatures that bring them God's truth in a wonderful and fun way that they will remember.
Meet some of our Teachers
Hope
Hope has been an active New Lifer since 1999. She’s a servant extraordinaire and has served in most of the ministries at New Life. Currently, she’s the Fellowship ministry leader and also lovingly serves in our Little Lambs (pre-K and K) class. Hope loves her New Life family and others by feeding them. She prepares a breakfast for all the Sunday morning servants, and she always brings an amazing snack to her classroom.
Hope met her husband Huey at New Life, and they’ve been married since 2001. They live in Clayton with Hope’s four kids: Tiffany, Jon, Missy, Lisha , a cat, a dog & 3 turtles. With Huey’s three kids, they have quite the family. Hope works for a law firm in Walnut Creek , and she enjoys cooking for a multitude (no surprise there!), serving others (no surprise there either!), bargain shopping, event planning and sewing. Hope is also the resident costume designer for a theater group in Walnut Creek .
Alisha
Alisha works with our Little Lambs class. She loves working with the Pre-K and kindergarten age group because they learn so much so fast right in front of you. Alisha comes from a big family and has always loved being around little ones.
She is a recent graduate of Clayton Valley High, now attending DVC. Alisha has been doing tae kwon do for five years and is now a black belt. She also enjoys playing the guitar, snowboarding and spending time with family and friends.
Missy
Missy works with the Pre-K and kindergarten children in our Little Lambs class. Missy loves to engage with the kids, watching their progress throughout the year. They love her because they know how much she likes to listen to them.
Missy is a busy DVC student, who hopes to transfer to UC Davis to study animal biology. In her free time you can find her dancing, snowboarding and spending time with her friends and family. Missy’s favorite holiday is Halloween – it’s all about the fabulous homemade costumes!
Jon
Jon works with the Pre-K and kindergarten kids in Little Lambs. He’s had lots of practice being an older brother and setting a good example, so it’s a natural fit for him to take on the same role with New Life Kids! Jon likes answering their (MANY) questions and then later hearing them talk about something he’s taught them.
Jon is a business major at San Jose State, and keeps himself pretty busy with his hobbies, too. He’s been doing tae kwon do for five years and has reached the black belt level. Jon also likes cars – a lot! He’s a member of a car team called Jinsoky, which competes in car shows all over the area.
